Rent a studio in Amsterdam Nieuw-West?

At the August Allebéplein 112-114 in Amsterdam Nieuw-West you will find the first Change= building, which was completed in 2017. The building is 17 floors high and has about 500 studios specially developed for young professionals between the ages of 18 and 36. All our buildings are sustainable, green and natural gas-free. In doing so, we contribute to a green planet.

Location

Change= Amsterdam Nieuw-West is located just outside the ring. The building has several parks nearby, such as the Rembrandtpark (5-minute walk). There’s also a nice shopping center within walking distance (1-minute walk) and the building is easily accessible by public transport. Both Lelylaan train station (10-minute walk) and Postjesweg metro station are within walking distance (4-minute walk).

Our service

You enter the Change= building by using a keycard. At the entrance you can choose to use the stairs or if you are disabled, there is also an elevator. The stairs lead you to the nice little courtyard garden. Through the inner garden you reach the spacious atrium and the lift area that takes you to your floor. Our community staff are present on weekdays between 09:00 – 17:30 to answer all your questions. In the evenings and weekends you can also contact the caretaker.

Common areas

In the atrium there is room for games like pool, shuffleboard or you can pick out free stuff from the gift table. Here you will find a series of books and games. You can also use the vending machines that are filled with drinks and snacks.

Our Amsterdam Nieuw-West location also has a Washbar. This is a spacious laundrette with washing machines and dryers. This is not covered by the service charge.

Our ready-to-use studios

At Change= you rent a ready-made modern studio, approximately 28m2, at the most affordable price. So you don't have to worry about installing a new floor, buying a refrigerator, curtains, internet and induction hob. You only have to move your furniture in and you can immediately enjoy your independent studio with its own modern kitchen, bathroom and toilet.

Not all studios have a washing machine connection. Should your studio not have this, you have the option of having a connection installed, the costs being borne by the resident. You can also choose to use the Washbar on the 1st floor. You pay per wash.

What will rent at Change= cost me?

The bare rent costs a maximum of €752.57.
Service costs are €248.
These are the costs incurred for the lift, building, glass washers, signal guidance, cleaner, security, Internet/Wi-Fi, utility costs (underfloor heating). Service costs are an advance payment, each year you will receive an annual statement reflecting the costs incurred.
There is a possibility to apply for rent allowance. More information can be found on the website of the Dutch tax authorities.
You enter into a contract with Change= for one year. After that, the contract can be terminated monthly.

Am I eligible for a rent allowance?

Whether you are eligible for a rent allowance is of course entirely dependent on your income, you can calculate this on the website of the Dutch tax authorities.

Change= has chosen to use a bare rent that does not exceed the social rent limit, which may make you eligible for a rent allowance.

This is what we need from you

It is important that you have an employment contract, three pay slips, three salary deposits and a bank statement, with your name and address on it.
After the approval of the documents provided by you, you will be invited for an intake with one of the community employees.
If the interview goes well on both sides and you fit within the Networked Living concept? Then we offer you a studio.

Please note: there is a waiting list for the studios in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. This is currently between three to six months. Sign up now and you may soon be part of our Change= Networked Living community.
